Over the past few years our family has experienced a series of very unfortunate events ... we lost my mother to ovarian cancer in February 2006, my engagement ended just a month before the wedding in November 2006, my father suffered paralysis after two surgeries in May 2007 (and I could go on.) We've also been blessed many times over which you've seen in previous blog entries.
Well, today I have sad and somewhat scary news. I have been diagnosed with cancer. Never in a million years did I think I would be one of the unfortunate souls to have to battle such an evil beast. I have 5 reasons, 5 incredibly wonderful reasons, why I can't let this beat me. They are Anita, Nathan, Isaac, Alyssa and Brandon.
I will try to keep my blog updated so you all know how things are going. The first step is surgery ... probably the end of next week once I see my oncologist on Wednesday. My family has surrounded me with support and love ... without them I don't know how I could handle this blow. I ask that you keep them in your prayers as they take care of my children while I'm not able.
I love you all,
Kathy
What Cancer Cannot Do
Author Unknown
Cancer is so limited---
It cannot cripple love
Cancer is so limited---
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit.
