That's all ... yuck. I've completed my first two days of chemo ... two very long days! On Tuesday I get my cisplatin and my doxirubicin. On Wednesday I get my taxol. They also load me up on fluids, steroids, benadryl and other fun baggies of things. It takes about 5-6 hours each day to pump all of that junk into me. They said I should expect to feel like I've got the worst case of the flu for the next 4-5 days. So, I expect after that I should feel pretty ok until my next round of chemo cocktail on April 1st and 2nd! This will take 18 weeks, but hopefully I'll have a few good days in between!
Yesterday Mom Picker took me to the hospital to get a heart test called a "MUGGA screen" that was rather strange. They removed a small amount of blood from me, mixed that with radioactive material, then re-injected the mixture into my arm. I had to lay still on a table for 25 minutes while a machine did "gate tracking" of my heart function (whatever that is!)
OK, enough of the yuck stuff. Brandon rode the bus to school on Tuesday for the first time! He LOVED it! I was ready for some tears from him, but the only one who cried was me! He's getting so big, too fast. I promise to post some pics soon ... right now I'm just too pooped to make the effort.

Who Is The Backyard Gang?
Mom calls us "The Backyard Gang" because when she's had enough of our noise and silliness she "lets" us go play outside in the backyard. She says she likes some "peas and quiet" every once in awhile! Well, we've never seen her eat peas while we play outside, but she sure looks happy and calm in her rocking chair ... that must be the "quiet" part!

- If you had told me 10 years ago that at the age of 36 I'd be the mother of 5 children I would have laughed ... but here I am. Somewhere in my life I must have done something right to be deemed worthy in God's eyes to be blessed with the 5 beautiful children who now call me "Mom" (and on occasion a few other choice words.) We were created by Him to be a family. It just took those ten years for us to find each other. Now that our family is complete, I've decided to sit down during my free time ... wait, free time? Kathy... I can't even imagine going through this process. I whine at the most insignificant discomforts, to my shame. Please know we'll be praying for a quick and uncomplicated 18 weeks.
