God has blessed us with two of the most gorgeous days, and the Jones kids have certainly taken advantage of the beautiful weather! We've spent every minute after they step off of the school bus, until it's time for dinner and baths, outside in the backyard. We've played baseball, picked wild violets, run the fence with the neighbor's dog, visited with Grandpa, played with Cousin Christopher, and had the wildest bubble party ever! And guess what? Yep, I took pictures ... lots of pictures. To you, the video below may seem silly ... repetitive pictures and goofy expressions on the kids' faces ... but to me these pictures capture sweet memories.
About halfway through the video (starting with the pics from today) you'll notice that Brandon has a "do-rag" on his head. He wore that all day. It's actually one of my chemo-head caps. He said that his head is bald "just like Mommy's. I need a chemo hat too!"
For those of you following my medical junk ... Yesterday I met with my gynecological oncologist. My CA-125 had been on a wrong-way path, even after my chemo treatments had begun. Fortunately it has turned around and is heading back down (currently at 107.) So, my protocol will remain the same for at least another 2 weeks. At that point they will do a CT scan to determine if the tumors are shrinking. For those of you who aren't keenly familiar with my current condition, I have uterine cancer, Stage 3C Grade 3, that has spread to my lymph nodes. I beat it once, and I certainly plan on beating it again ... this time it's just a tad bit harder.
Today I met with my urologist (who also treats cancer). He has concerns about my hydronephrosis, but is pleased with my progress. We are holding off on additional surgery for another couple of months to give the chemo a chance to shrink the tumor that is pressing on my kidney and ureter.
Enough of my medical junk. I have a very dear aunt who was just diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy yesterday. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. She has been such a rock for me and someone I consider a dear friend. I love you Best Aunt Jeane!
So, enjoy the video ... I'm off for my nightly cup of tea, a little Nightline, and hopefully a few hours of sleep!
Until Tomorrow, Kathy

Kathy,
Another 2 letters to add to my moniker... so now I am VDBA Jeane! That would be Very Dear Best Aunt, which I am.
Don't forget that in another month or so, we're going to get our heads read... maybe Kristie can study up on the fine art of head reading and do it for us at the Harper Reunion in June.
Love,
VDBA Jeane
