Dancin' with NED!

It's been awhile since I've updated The Backyard Gang Blog. LIFE has been happening all around me! It's simply amazing to me that the kids have been in school for a month! Kmart and Target already have their costumes and candy out for Oct 31st. The burning bush on the corner of my sister's house has a few leaves that have turned a beautiful crimson red. This year is just flying by!

Today was a GREAT day! I got results back from my last blood work ... my CA-125 is a TWO! That's the number 2! WHA HOOO! I also had a CT scan done. My oncologist read the scan and shared some incredible news with me ... there is "No Evidence of Disease" (NED). I am officially dancing with NED! The internal radiation caused some tissue damage to a couple of my internal organs, but in time those should heal.

Four short months ago I posted a quote, "Being rich is having money; being wealthy is having time." (5/7/08) God's Grace, your prayers and some very gifted and compassionate medical professionals have made me a very wealthy woman. Time never meant that much to me Now I cherish every moment God has bestowed on me! Time is precious ... Time is fleeting ... Time is not ours to determine. I have no guarantees that this cancer will never come back. I have no guarantees that some other tragedy won't befall me; however, I do have this one moment in time and I am grateful for that.

OK, so I have 14 minutes to bathe the kids and get them in bed so I can pop some kettle corn, make myself a tall glass of iced tea and plop my butt down in front of the TV to watch Sarah Palin's address to the Republican Convention. The next 60 days is sure to be pretty exciting, but I'll certainly be glad when it's all over!
