It's our favorite time of the year in the Jones household! Although we don't celebrate halloween, we do celebrate Fall! Our favorite family tradition is our annual drive up the Great River Road in Illinois, crossing the river on the Brussel's Ferry and driving through rural Illinois to our favorite farmer's punkin patch! This was our seventh consecutive year making the drive. This year, we were joined by Grandpa, Aunt Kristie, Uncle Eric and cousin Christopher. After the trip we stopped in Alton, Illinois at our favorite waterin' hole ... The Riverbend. The place is a dark pool hall ... but oh my! It has the best 1/2 lb hamburgers (for a buck!) and delicious fries! On a Saturday afternoon it's pretty empty and kid-friendly. Mom and I used to drive across the river on a weekday afternoon just to go to The Riverbend for their pork fritter sandwiches! So, today I splurged and ate one for Mom! YUMMMMY! After lunch we headed home with our punkins and delicious spaghetti and butternut squash!
We can't wait for next year! Happy Fall!
Until Tomorrow,
Kathy
