Summer Stories

Wow! What a whirlwind of a week we've had! I sent Isaac away for a few days to the Happy Tales Farm to play with the goats, chickens, cats, dogs and kids. He worked on his bike riding skills, played basketball in the loft of a huge barn, and hung out at a bar called "The Dawg House", drank soda and chatted with a motorcyclist. He lived it up!

Last weekend we drove out to Edwardsville to check out the Goshen Farmer's Market. YUM! We bought fresh blackberries, delicious red and juicy tomatoes, strawberry rhubarb jam, black raspberry preserves, and other fun stuff! The kids enjoyed the performer, Jefferson Fox. He played the guitar and sang while the Jones Kids danced to entertain the crowd.

On a whim I decided to pack up my three oldest stinkers and take them on vacation to Lake of the Ozarks. Aunt Kiki and Uncle Eric offered to watch Allie and Brandon so the big kids could get some much-needed Mommy time. I loved getting to make some incredible memories with Nita, Nathan and Isaac! We loved swimming in the hotel pool and the lake more than anything else ... and we did a LOT of it! We enjoyed going to unique places for our meals (no McD's for this crowd!) including a neat little Italian restaurant for one dinner and a lovely Mexican restaurant for the other. We had old fashioned photos taken, shopped in the touristy-souvenir shops, rode go-karts, went to the movies, shopped at the outlets and just had fun! We sure missed being a "complete" family though! It was strange not having Alyssa and Brandon with us. We were very glad to get home to them and feel whole again!

I've posted a few pictures from our vacation. Due to space limitations they are pretty small ... simply click on the picture to see it larger. Enjoy!

Later,
Kathy

That looks like SUCH a fun trip to the lake... and the boys are handsome, but Nita...she's stunning in that lovely dress and parasol! Beautiful!
