It's past my bedtime, around 11PM on Tuesday night. It's been a long day, and I had high hopes of hitting the sack after my last little monster fell asleep around 7:30 ... but then I remembered just how significant tonight is going to be for the people of Chile ...
I've been sitting here at my computer watching something miraculous! The 33 Chilean miners are experiencing what one might call a "rebirth" ... they are coming up out of the center of the earth, one by one, over 2 months of isolation, desperation and a little something called HOPE. As I type the 2nd miner, Mario Espance, a 40 year old man, is jumping around praising God and rejoicing with his loved ones and friends. I want so badly to stay up all night and watch as each man experiences what has to be an indescribable feeling.
Thank you Lord Jesus for allowing me to see your hand in yet another miracle. Everything else seems so insignificant as I sit here this evening. You are a Mighty God and I sing your praises with these men, their families, their country and humankind. In a world which seems so full of hatred, sadness and desperation, You have given us another glimpse at the goodness of man. AMEN!
Kathy ... off to watch one more "rescue" before I must go to sleep
