Well, folks ... Monday is my big day. These past few days have been frustrating, painful, anxiety-ridden ... but full of hope. The doc took me off of my pain meds (well, except for Tylenol, which doesn't begin to handle this) so I've basically been walking bent-in-half, red-faced and grumpy since Tuesday afternoon ... and then I remember that it will all be over in just a few short days and my new life will begin. My insurance issues haven't been solved, but my thanks go out to all of you who have given me such excellent advice and warm words of wisdom.
My surgery is scheduled to begin at 8am on Monday morning. Kristie will be at the hospital with me during the surgery. I've asked her to post here and to email how things went. Please keep my surgeon and his staff in your prayers along with my children and the people who are caring for them.

Who Is The Backyard Gang?
Mom calls us "The Backyard Gang" because when she's had enough of our noise and silliness she "lets" us go play outside in the backyard. She says she likes some "peas and quiet" every once in awhile! Well, we've never seen her eat peas while we play outside, but she sure looks happy and calm in her rocking chair ... that must be the "quiet" part!

- If you had told me 10 years ago that at the age of 36 I'd be the mother of 5 children I would have laughed ... but here I am. Somewhere in my life I must have done something right to be deemed worthy in God's eyes to be blessed with the 5 beautiful children who now call me "Mom" (and on occasion a few other choice words.) We were created by Him to be a family. It just took those ten years for us to find each other. Now that our family is complete, I've decided to sit down during my free time ... wait, free time? OK, that just doesn't exist around here ... but nevertheless, I'll sit down and spew thoughts and verbiage for no other reason than to empty my brain of it's clutter.
