The week in-between Christmas and New Year's always seems to be such a bummer. Today I accomplished, well, nothing. I did, however, exercise my brain with some deep thought. These questions remain unanswered for me ...1. If our knees bent the other way, what would chairs look like?
2. Where can you buy those little plastic ends to put on your shoelaces?
3. Why is it that when you transport something by car, it's called a shipment, but when you transport something by ship, it's called a cargo?
4. Why do we tend to raise our shoulders when we're out in the rain?
5. Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you turn down the volume of the radio?
6. How do they get a deer to cross at the yellow road sign?
7. What idiot put an 's' in the word lisp?
8. Why isn't the number 11 pronounced onety one?
9. Why is it that if someone tells you that there are 1 billion stars in
the universe you will believe them but if they tell you a wall has
wet paint you will have to touch it to be sure?
10. Is there another word for synonym?

I googled "aglet" and, through a relatively short search, found that you can buy them at http://www.lacis.com/catalog/search.php. However, in my travels I read that the plastic ones are heat-fused to the lace, which makes them not a practical solution, but then the cost of the metal ones and the tool to crimp them makes that impractical also... just buy a new pair of shoelaces.

AH! So they DO have a name! An "aglet" sounds more like a long-legged bird ... oh wait, that's an egret!
I'd sure like to join you on your "travels"! I'd broaden my knowledge of interesting facts, and get to hang out with you just because!
