OK, maybe I'm a little overexcited about the whole deal, but can you blame me? The "back to school" rush is finally over in our house. Boxes of tissues, dozens of glue sticks, and piles of loose leaf notebook paper no longer scatter my living room floor. School uniforms have been purchased, washed and pressed. Backpacks have been labeled in permanent marker with a variety of "Jones" names. Alarm clocks have been set, and now ... the kids are gone!
Today my last two stinkers went off to school! Nita, Nathan and Isaac started last Thursday. Alyssa and Brandon started this week. We hit so many bumps in the road to start this year off I was sure I was ready to just pull them all out of public school and start homeschooling again! To make a long story short ... Nita and Isaac were denied bus transportation to their school. I found out at 3:30pm the DAY BEFORE the first day of school! So, at 4pm I had them transferred to our "home school", which means they will be walking to and from school. Nathan will stay at the old school as that is the only building that offers the special services he needs. Next, I found out that the early ed program had moved Brandon from the building where he and Alyssa attended last year, to another building in another part of the district. IMPOSSIBLE and just plain SILLY! So, we got that ironed out. This morning, the bus pulled up to pick up Allie and Brandon, but they said Brandon wasn't on their "list" so I had to take him. AARRGGHH!!!! This district is driving me batty and sure isn't much to brag about anymore. We've had other problems along the way this past week, but most have been resolved or forgotten ... life goes on.
I took a couple of pictures. The first is Nita, Nathan and Isaac's first day of school and the second was taken this morning before the bus fiasco and Brandon's melt-down because he couldn't ride his beloved bus! Can you believe how big they're all getting?

Until Tomorrow,
Kathy
