The Gratitude Salute

A good friend sent this to me this morning and I wanted to pass it along to all of my friends in blog-world. What a wonderful way to say thank you to the men and women who fight for our freedom!

Just a side note ... Brandon and I spent the weekend at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He's fine. We just had a scare with his shunt. He presented with all of the symptoms of a shunt malfunction which had me, and his neurosurgeons rather worried. After a battery of tests it was determined his shunt is just fine and that my son is definitely very cute and charming! He loved having a "sleep over" at the hospital. He walked the hallways greeting nurses and telling other kids "I hope you feel better!" He even hung out at the nurse's station while Mommy went downstairs to grab some dinner. He's usually so clingy that I was sure he'd be excited to see me when I got back 10 minutes later. Nope! He told me I could go back and "talk to the other ladies in the food place" while he "helped" the nurses take care of the "sick kids." He loved having his own flat-screen television that hung over his bed and was in awe that he could walk down to the kitchenette whenever he pleased to get his own popsicle. He was right at home!

I'll be doing my 5 days of chemo this M-F ... so please excuse me if I don't respond to emails or phone messages right away. Hopefully we'll learn tomorrow that my numbers are going down and the prayers that are going up are being answered!

Until Tomorrow,
Kathy

As I watched this video I thought of Jennifer's husband, Brandon Emanuel, who has been called back up and is being sent to Iraq any day now. I pray for both Jennifer and Brandon who will become first-time parents while Brandon is on the other side of the world serving his country.
