My All Stars!!!!

Today I joined millions of moms in a past-time I never thought I'd enjoy ... I became a "soccer mom" of sorts! Isaac and Nita played their first real basketball games today in the Upward League. Anita is a Lady Dragon and Isaac is a Polar Bear.

I was actually dreading today. The practices tend to get long and tiresome. Nathan, Alyssa and Brandon find them rather boring and difficult to behave seeing that practice starts at their bedtime. Well, "game day" was great! Both of my kiddos have never played a sport before, but today they shined! Isaac overcame his anxiety and made some really great shots and did a great job on defense. In the video below you can see him make a shot right at the buzzer! Nita smiled the entire game, loving the cheers from the crowd as she excelled at passing and defense.

After Nita's game I went up to thank her substitute coach for standing in for Coach Gaddis (who had a family emergency.) He said, "She really has some natural talent! Nita, don't be afraid to shoot the ball. With a little practice you'll go far!" She just glowed. Well, and so did I!

After the games we went out to Dairy Queen to celebrate. I took lots and lots of pictures, so I decided to share them with you in video-form. Just ignore the lyrics at the beginning of the song. The kids love the tune and asked that I use it. Enjoy!

Until Tomorrow,
Kathy ... One Very Proud "Basketball Mom"
