Get Ready to Wiggle!

Today was a lazy day here in the Jones house. Memorial Day gave me a reprieve from my new routine, so I decided the kids and I would take advantage of it. We ate strange meals at weird times ... wore our pajamas all day long ... had a snack, compliments of Aunt Kiki, called "Frog Spit" (don't ask) ... and we danced on the bed. There's nothing like 5 kids and a momma bouncing on the bed to The Wiggles, Queen, and Louis Armstrong. We went from "Quack Quack Quack Quack Quack Cockadoodle Doo!" to "We Will Rock You!" ... from "The Basin Street Blues" to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame!"

Tonight my bed might squeak a little more than before and my sheets may be disheveled ... but I'll sleep well remembering the happiness I felt watching my children's cute little bodies bouncing around on the bed and listening to their squeals of laughter as mommy tried to do "the wiggle" like Captain Feathersword. We certainly aren't the typical American family experiencing the typical Hallmark moments ... but I wouldn't trade these memories for all the money in the world.

Tomorrow is the last day of school for my three oldest. When I get back from chemo I will come home to two new 5th graders and a new 2nd grader! We made it another year! It's hard to believe in one short year Alyssa will be joining her big brothers and sister at grade school, with Brandon just one year behind. WHAT WILL I DO????

May your week be filled with many happy memories and should you find yourself feeling down, why not dance on the bed?

Until Tomorrow,
Kathy
