Happy Mother's Day 2009!

Happy Mother's Day to all of my mommy-type friends! What a gorgeous day it is here in Florissant! My children treated me to breakfast in bed ... complete with my favorite apricot jam on toast, and milk on ice!

Earlier this week, Isaac's second grade teacher, Mrs. Jones, called and left a wonderful message for me. She said, "Ms. Jones, my heart is full to overflowing right now. I just wanted to tell you what a treasure your son is. On Sunday you will be getting the most incredible Mother's Day gift. He just touched my heart and I had to call you." Well, I've eagerly awaited today so I could actually know what she was talking about. Oh my! Was she ever right! As you can see in the picture, Isaac made a tulip with a wonderful letter for me. The card reads:

Happy Mothers Day! Thank you for getting me from the bad family. Thank you for loving me all this time. I loved you before I met you. Mom, I just wish that I can go wherever you go! I wish that I can stop the cancer! Love, Isaac Matthew Jones

Do I have the best kid or what? I just cried and cried happy tears when I read his words and thoughts. I wish the neurologist who diagnosed him with autism and global developmental delays 5 years ago could see him now. We struggle daily with behavioral/learning/emotional challenges ... but moments like this make it all OK

Today we also celebrate my children's birth mothers! So even though they don't read my blog, "Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!" to Angie, Jennifer, Karen, Lori and Dawn. We love you! Thank you for giving life to your children and mine. I will forever be grateful to you for making me a mother.

Until Tomorrow
The Most-Blessed Mother in the World!
