Momma Robin

I just love Spring, and today the children and I spent half of our day just watching it happen! This morning we discovered that we have a momma robin and 3 baby birds nested up under the eaves of our home! I'm sure this is the same bird who comes back to her nest every year. She doesn't flinch when the kids and I stand underneath the nest to watch her feed the babies. The front door opening and shutting as kids run in and out doesn't faze her in the least bit. And today, my camera flashing didn't bug her either.

The most hilarious observation came from my youngest, Brandon. He said, "Mommy? I don't see the daddy bird anywhere! His babies need their mommy to stay home and clean up that filthy nest! He needs to go to Target and buy some more worms!" I replied, "Well, Brandon. He's probably there right now." Brandon said, "Oh ya! He's shopping for Mother's Day!" I laughed and asked him what he supposed the daddy bird would buy for the mommy bird for Mother's Day. "A Swiffer Sweeper! That nest is a mess!"

So, enjoy the pics of our Spring Momma Robin! Have a happy weekend!

Until Tomorrow
