I started my day hearing my eldest yelling at my youngest. Obviously he had broken into her backpack and discovered, in the remains of her pencil box, her coveted glue stick. He was rather proud of his "sticky lips" and she was fuming because, "Now I can't use it! It's got lip juice on it! My summer is RUINED!"
My kids have officially started their summer break as of 11:50 yesterday morning. I really am looking forward to spending more time with them, but it means "goodbye" to my 9AM Bonnie Hunt Show, and my 12:30PM nap.
The kids were given holiday and birthday money from Grandma and Zedo and Aunt Shirley and Uncle Jeff. They pooled their money together and bought a Wii game system with the understanding that we wouldn't use it until summer break. So, today the Wii gets hooked up. I think I'm more excited about it than the kids are!
I'm now the mother of two preschoolers, a third grader and two sixth graders. Life is good!
